Strzelecki Walk 2012 would take 6 to 7 hours walk 23 km in total follow Main Range Track as a loop from Charlotte Pass. This full day walk explores some of the greatest alpine country on offer in NSW. The walk grants views of Blue, Club and Albina Lakes, climbs to the top of Mt Kosciuszko and crosses the famous Snowy River twice. This main range circuit is one of the classic walks in New South Wales, as the views in clear weather extend all the way over the mountainous landscape to the distant horizon. Guidelines for the walk offered

Before the hike or walk
* Check the weather and take appropriate clothing.
* Always expect a change in the weather and prepare accordingly.
* If you are walking with a friend/partner, combine equipment to share the load, but each person should carry
essentials like water or food. Lunch – this is often the best part after a rewarding day out. So do spoil yourself.

       * Water (1.5/ 2 Litres is recommended depending on the length of the route)
* Comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots (as a note of caution, ensure toenails are trimmed as there is
some ascending walking and this can cause discomfort)
* Shorts (this is of course weather permitting)
* A sweater or windbreaker and sweatpants
* A rain coat, as the weather can be unpredictable
* A small backpack
* Sun block, even on a cloudy day.
* Cap or hat for the sun
* Camera to capture those moments.
* Binoculars
